“What words of wisdom do we need this week?” Opportunity (a Para-Gram by Paramahansa Yogananda)

“Any opportunity that comes to your life is your own creation; it does not come of itself, nor by chance or “good luck.” Opportunity is either created now, or has been created at some time in the near or distant past, by your own rightly guided will. If you see no opportunity now, create one by your will, which is a divine instrument within you. Say, “I will do everything for myself with my own will, which is a reflection in me of Divine Will.” Act on this truth, and opportunity will come to you.”

This is an excellent piece of wisdom from a very wise Yogi (they usually are, aren’t they?). It also fits very nicely with the theme for this month – manifestation. When he says “…my own will…is a reflection in me of Divine Will” he is essentially saying that what we truly want in life is a mirror of our higher purpose. As above, so below; as within, so without. Results or opportunities may not appear straight away but that doesn’t mean that all efforts are futile. And of course, action must be taken but beyond a certain point, there is nothing else that we can do.

Opportunities also come in many shapes and sizes – job openings, business start-ups or expansions, romantic relationships, friendships, travel, hobbies, discounted or free tickets to our favorite activities or attractions….

So, when opportunity comes knocking on our door this week (and from now on), it would be wise to answer the door and accept what has been offered…only if it is right for us, of course…
