What do we most need to know this month?

Rune: Sowilo or Sowelu (Translation: The Sun)

Meaning: Wholeness, light, discovery.

The last couple of months have been difficult. Personally, I have had quite a bit of criticism about my beliefs (from people who claim that there is no such thing as ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, yet they want to tell me that I am wrong when they can’t handle my truth); found myself helping others who have contacted me about their suicidal thoughts from half way across the world and there was not much more I could do but say “Hang in there. I’ve been there before and it will pass”; profound grief from letting go of certain people and situations… I know I’m not the only one, but there is a light rising even now in late February, as I write this blog.

The light of the Sun – in a symbolic sense. The sun or light from within, your true essence, strength and compass. The discovery – or the knowledge – of who you really are and what you are here to do.

March is a time for basking in the warmth of your own divinity and wholeness. You have made it through the mire of the first two months of 2014. Even though this is not the end of this year’s challenges, I believe they have served to strengthen you for whatever is in store for the next ten months.

Integrate this year’s lessons so far (which are a flow on from last year’s challenges) and move forward confidently. My lessons were the following (I have already taken the classes and sat for the tests for these lessons but life keeps bringing them in front of me in order to refine them – this is merely the cyclical nature of life):

  • To speak and write my truth no matter what vitriol is thrown my way.
  • There is only so much I can do when helping others especially when they are not in front of me (major lesson in emotional detachment).
  • Letting go of situations and individuals that I have outgrown, or that are not the healthiest options for me, is painful but it allows for new, and healthier scenarios to enter my life.

And so the healing and learning beat goes on…
