Feeling OK one minute, angry, or sad the next, then something else a few seconds later is very typical during PTSD. Mood swings represent the overwhelming cocktail of emotions that were once suppressed for the purpose of survival. Emotional equilibrium may be maintained by:

  • Isolation (this is so that you avoid lashing out at, or burdening others)
  • Get Physical (exercise)
  • Nature
  • Writing
  • Rescue Remedy
  • Woody aromatherapy oils (cedarwood, sandalwood, rosewood)
