Κλειώ (Clio) – The Goddess or Muse of History. 

The etymology of her name is derived from κλέω/κλείω which means to recount, to make famous or to celebrate. She is sometimes referred to as “The Proclaimer”. Clio is often represented with a book, parchment scroll, or tablet. 

She was a daughter of Zeus who I have already established in this article, lived. He was a Pelasgian – the proper term for what today is known as ‘Greek’.

Clio predates Herodotus who is often referred to as “The Father of History.
