Galatians 5:1 So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.

The term “slavery to the law” refers to man-made laws that are not in alignment with Natural Law. So, this would mean false laws related to things such as dietary requirements and taxation. Such ‘laws’ were not in the original Hellenic version of the Bible.

In relation to dietary laws Christ said the following:

Mark 7:18 “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? 19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.) 20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

Such laws are designed to enslave people when, according to Natural Law, all people are born FREE. They may do as they please provided that they do not cause harm, or commit crimes such as the ones mentioned in Matthew 7:21-22.
