This article is primarily for those of you who may have inadvertently, or deliberately landed on this website expecting to find the usual New Age rhetoric that is espoused by TV, internet and author guru-types. If this is the case, then you have come to the wrong place. You may want to stop reading right now. If not, then what you will get in this blog post is a description of who I am, what I stand for and how things will be from 2019 onwards on this site.
The term “New Age” in my domain name is the only thing I have in common with the New Age movement. I am diametrically opposed to the popular beliefs and practices peddled within this arena. I have thought about removing this term in the past but decided not to do so due to the reasons outlined in the following article:
Here are several articles that further demonstrate what I stand for:
The Perils of Perpetual Positivity
New Age MythBusting: Earthly Existence is an Illusion
New Age MythBusting: Forgiveness is Necessary for Healing
New Age MythBusting: Mirroring
The next few points are dedicated to the level of REALNESS to expect on this blog:
- The information shared here will expand beyond self-help tips and exposing New Age fallacies to unearthing what is REALLY going on in the world – that is, the ways in which people are mind controlled. Since psychology is my main focus, revealing how people are manipulated, or held back on this level will be very important from now on. I was already doing this by exposing the falsehoods embedded in New Age tenets especially in relation to how they hinder healing. However, I will take it further than I ever could have imagined when I divorced myself from New Ageism a few years ago. The move away from this bogus spiritual movement led me to the truth, or conspiracy theory movement. After a few years of investigation, I discovered that it is designed to keep the truth buried – it is crawling with shills (i.e. intelligence agents) of the highest order, as is the New Age movement. It’s time to unearth truths that have been buried for millennia. (By the by, I will continue to trash New Ageism because that’s where it belongs – in the trash.)
- There will be more posts dealing with the REALITY of sexual abuse. I began this blog in 2010 when I started writing my autobiography describing what I endured as a child and how I healed from it. This blog was a way for me to stay motivated as I wrote the book by sharing excerpts and describing what the experience was like for me (there will never be graphic descriptions of the abuse on the blog; you may find these updates under the blog category “Phoenix Rising Book Updates”). My aim is to stop this issue from being swept under the proverbial rug. I also want to help survivors of all forms abuse as the issues are the same based on what so many have told me over the years. I will give adequate “trigger warnings” in the posts themselves when I share this material. You will find these posts under the blog category – “Healing Sexual Abuse.”
- Being REAL means swearing whenever I am moved to do so. I once heard an Aussie comedian say the following to a woman who was offended by his cussing: “Real people swear, sweetheart.” I wholeheartedly agree with him.
I will continue to unapologetically tell the truth in my own kick-ass way…
(1969 Frank Sinatra; Lyrics by Paul Anka: final verse)
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way
The brilliant ending of this song encapsulates INDIVIDUAL expression, integrity and empowerment – everything that is embodied in the material on this website.
