Controlled Opposition: a strategy in which an individual, organization, or movement is covertly controlled or influenced by a 3rd party and the controlled entity’s true purpose is something other than its publicly stated purpose. The controlled entity serves a role of mass deception, surveillance and/or political/social manipulation. In most cases the controlled party is portrayed as being in opposition to the interests of the controlling party.

I began looking into the truth movement – some call it ‘the home of conspiracy theorists’ – during the 1990s. Back then there was no internet, so it was magazines, books, lectures and meetings with ‘like-minded’ people. Little did I know how many of those people were controlled opposition – shills, agents etc.

Since I am a sceptical woman, I did not – and do not – buy everything that I was, or am, being sold, especially the stuff about secret societies (I wrote about it here). How can they be a secret when everyone is allowed to talk about them?

In the modern digital world, controlled opposition is now more insidious and widespread. The names used to label this world describe the intent behind its creation:

InterNET – what is the purpose of a net?

World Wide WEB – what do spiders do with their webs?

The real reason for controlled opposition is to keep people contained. When it comes to the internet, they may sell it as something that connects people, and even though it does do this, it is more about keeping track of where you are and what you are allowed to think, say and do.

Censorship has been ramped up in recent years since it is easy to do in the digital world. The thing is, when it comes to the shill pages, websites and channels, any kind of censorship is nothing but propaganda.

There are two reasons for fake censorship:

1/ It acts as an example of what will happen to you if you do, or say, the same as the shill.

2/ It gives you the impression that the shill is legitimate so that you will believe what they are telling you even when they are misdirecting you. They will always give you some truth – they have to so that you will follow them. But as time goes on, there is less and less truth in their rhetoric. This way they succeed in taking you so far away from the truth, that it will take you a long time to find your way back. You may never find your way back. They are there to waste your time.

It is difficult to give you a comprehensive checklist of what to look for so that you can avoid these people altogether. I can recommend the following:

  • Think critically.
  • Do your own research.
  • Be wary of those who have an active PayPal, Patreon, or some other type of online merchant account. Given that the internet is controlled by the controllers, they are not likely to allow those who are telling the whole truth to profit from it.
