John 9:25 He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
The above Biblical verse speaks of a blind man claiming that due to the healing powers of Jesus, he was able to see again. Since Christ did not exist, this verse is allegorical – Christ represents the Light, the Sun, the Soul, the Source of Life. So, this verse means that the (blind) man now sees the Light (the Truth) through his spirituality (Soul).
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
Spiritual Blindness
John 9:39 Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind.”
The blindness referred to here is that of not recognizing spiritual truth, or reality, for it is Christ (the Source of Life) that creates and heals. A literal blind individual may know of this Truth because it is experienced through his/her Soul even if s/he has no proof of it with his/her sight. But someone who can see with his/her physical eyes may still be unable to see the Truth if s/he thinks that s/he knows, and can do, it all.
John 9:41 Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.”
If you were truly spiritually blind (or ignorant) you would not be guilty of any wrongdoing. However, when you claim that you can ‘see’ – that is, that you know-it-all, or can see-it-all (spiritually arrogant), you are guilty. If you claim to know God and that you are well-versed in God’s Laws, then you are fully accountable for your sins.
Spiritual Sight
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight.
This verse speaks to relying more on our spiritual sight, than our physical senses. It most certainly is not about rejecting the physical world – that is, blind faith. Since the physical world begins in the spiritual one, it is where the answers and guidance about this world come from in the very first instance. We will be needing more Spiritual Sight in the years to come. It would also be beneficial to live in this way from now on.
