Ego bashing is absent from the Bible – The Ultimate Book of Knowledge. It is rampant in the Satanically-inverted New Age Movement – learn more here.

From my article I AM (The Light Of The World):

I AM (Eγώ: Ego; Eίμαι: Ime).

Jesus Christ begins several passages in the Scripture with the words, “I am” – here are a few of them:

“I am the light of the world (John 8:12; 9:5).

“I am the resurrection and the life (John 11:25).

“I am the way and the truth and the life (John 14:6).

As stated in previous Biblical articles, Jesus Christ is an allegorical representation of the Sun/Light/Soul.

When he speaks, it is as if the Sun, or the Soul is speaking since the Sun represents the Soul/Self in the zodiac wheel. When Jesus says “I” in the original Hellenic script – Eγώ/Ego – he is referring to the Self/Soul: these are synonymous terms in both the Hellenic and English languages.

Ego = Self = Psyche (Hellenic word for “Soul”).

European Versus Other Indigenous Cultures

I have heard so much criticism over the European (i.e. Hellenic) focus on the individual since it is often construed as self-centeredness – however, this is not the way it plays out in reality. Having been raised in a Hellenic family surrounded by Italians who were like family to us, we were never only focused on ourselves as individuals, or our own families. Our parents were raised to help those around them regardless of whether or not we were related – what mattered was always the rightness, or goodness, of their characters.

In the Mother Country, our parents lived primarily via barter and by donation – that is, they either exchanged goods and services for other goods and services (barter), or they freely gave what they did not need or want to those who did need or want those things (donation). One of my mother’s great aunts was the village healer – she was primarily supported by the exchange of goods for her services (food, livestock, clothing, cloth, furniture).

Living in such a manner did not mean that they neglected themselves – their individuality – their viewpoints, their desires, hopes, dreams, etc. In fact, self-care, self-respect etc., is paramount when it comes to helping others – you cannot give that which you do not yourself possess in the first place.

In the New Age arena, dark-skinned indigenous peoples are seen as the prototype of what it is to have no ego (which does not exist), or to be more community-orientated. The group of dark-skinned people that I have spent some time with are the Native Americans. For the most part, I found that people’s perceptions of them were erroneous. They have a sense of individuality, or identity, via their names alone which describe who they are as individuals more so than European names which are tied to ancestry. This would make them even more individualistic than Europeans, yet they are very community-minded, focusing on wholeness in every area of life.

I’m An Individual

There was a song during my childhood entitled I’m An Individual (You Can’t Fool Me)that I absolutely adored, and still adore, to this day. Here are my favorite words from the song:

Some say I’m a genius, to others I’m a loon…

If you think you’ve got the nerve to put me in my place

I think that I should warn you, I’m not just a pretty face…

I’m an individual

You can’t fool me

An indi-bloody-vidual

You cant’ fool me

A genuine original

You can’t fool me…

Everybody knows that I’m a cut above the pack

Many will say that these words embody too much ‘Ego’: I say, there isn’t enough Ego… Watch the music video below:

My Way

Good ol’ Frank Sinatra and the anthem, My Way – my favorite verse below:

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows, I took the blows
And did it my way

Yes, it was my way
