Two years ago, I announced in this post, that I would be rewriting my autobiography to include how it also helped me heal ancestral trauma. (See this article for more on this phenomenon.)
I had originally planned to connect the book to the website. However, given my misgivings about the future of the internet due to outages, hacks and censorship, it will only be available as a self-standing paperback book. It will not be available for purchase online.
The book will include Hellenic script (along with translations) and many other things tied to my heritage: things that I have already touched on in my Biblical articles, and much more.
An example of such a change, includes a verse from the Hellenic song entitled The Eagle, which describes the Phoenix Rising from the Ashes symbolism: the Eagle and Phoenix are interchangeable symbols of Hellenic origin (learn more here).
Below is the relevant verse in Hellenic and English script:
Και αν μoυ κάψεις τα φτερά
vα μηv ξαvαπετάξω,
απ’ της φωτιάς μoυ τov καπvό
πάλι ψηλά θα φτάσω.
And if you burn my wings, so that I cannot fly again, I will rise out of the smoke from my fire, and reach high again.
Here is the music video from YouTube:
This is my Phoenix poem which was written at the beginning of this project in 2010:
The new title of my book is…
Phoenix Rising: Healing from Sexual and Ancestral Trauma via Spirituality
Below is a video that pays tribute to the genocide of some of my Pontian ancestors: it includes more Eagle symbolism. It contains English script so it is accessible to most people in this day and age. I now comprehend why my father’s relatives used the following term of endearment for their loved ones: πουλί μ’ – a phrase meaning “my bird” in the Pontian dialect. (For more information about my great grandparents, read the second half of this article.)
